Secret of Hydrosol. What is The Best Hydrosol? Identify Good Natural Organic Pure Skincare Moisturizing Hydrosol

Updated: May 16

What is hydrosol?

Hydrosol is a saturated distilled stock separated during the process of extracting essential oils. In addition to containing a small amount of essential oil components, it also contains all water-soluble substances in plants.

After picking plants, they are placed in a large distillation pot. During the distillation process, water vapor carries away their essential oil and some trace water-soluble substances through aromatic plants. These substances slowly condense in the condenser tube, with the lower density being the essential oil on top and the pure dew below.

The biggest use of hydrosol is wet paper film (commonly known as "water film"). Some girls use makeup water to apply their faces, but in fact, it is better to use pure dew, because the general makeup water contains a lot of ingredients such as preservative essence and alcohol, which are allergenic ingredients. Long term facial dressing will stimulate the face and cause allergy, while natural pure dew does not contain any of the above additive ingredients, which is natural, mild and non irritating. It is most suitable for daily facial dressing and water film.

What are the benefits of hydrosol?

There are many types of hydrosol, which generally contain water-soluble organic acids (not the type of acid we often refer to as brushing acid, which is much milder than those acids), so the most typical effect may be ranked first in terms of anti-inflammatory effects. Basically, most hydrosol has anti-inflammatory effects, with different strengths and weaknesses. Secondly, it is to soothe and calm the skin, supplementing some nutrients that the skin needs, which is the skin conditioning effect.

A hydrosol suitable for oily skin and acne prone skin, mostly with strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and a astringent effect. Common types include tea tree hydrosol, lavender hydrosol, rosemary hydrosol, mint hydrosol, and witch hazel hydrosol. A hydrosol suitable for sensitive skin and some dermatitis. It is mostly a hydrosol with sedative, soothing, and anti-inflammatory effects. Common types include chamomile, orange blossom, jasmine, and marigold.

The most beloved by various skin types is Rose hydrosol, which has a pleasant fragrance and relatively balanced effects. It is anti allergenic, relieves stress on the skin, and brightens the skin tone.

What are the ways to use Hydrosol?

Spray: directly used as toner, wet applied with cotton pad, or filled in spray bottle as hydrating skin care spray or makeup setting spray (skin moisturizing, soothing, calming).

Facial mask: Use Compression facial mask with hydrosol to apply for 5-10 minutes, commonly known as water mask.

Scalp care: After washing hair, massage the scalp with hydrosol, and then blow dry the hair, which can especially improve oily, dandruff, and hair loss problems.

Aromatherapy: Dilute 10% with hydrosol or add 1-5ml directly to a water oxygen machine.

Massage: You can directly use hydrosol for massage, or add an appropriate proportion of hydrosol to the massage oil to reduce the greasy feeling of the massage oil.

How to distinguish between genuine and fake hydrosol?

Odor. The scent of hydrosol has layers, not a fixed fragrance. Except for rose hydrosol and orange blossom hydrosol, which are fragrant, the smell of other pure dew is not fragrant.

Appearance. The ones with petals are not hydrosol, they are just synthetic toners. The petals are put in later.

Ingredient. If it contains ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerol, ethanol, etc., it is not a true natural hydrosol. Truly hydrosol only contains water and plant extracts.

Texture. The texture of hydrosol is like water, completely non sticky. If applied to the face with a sticky feeling, it is definitely not pure hydrosol. Other things have been added before. Hydrosol absorbs quickly when applied to the face, making it very refreshing.
