Microneedle beauty therapy

Updated: Jun 25, 2024

Microneedle therapy, also known as microneedling, uses micro-needle instruments to implement mechanical or physical, minimally invasive injury stimulation of skin and soft tissue, in order to obtain therapeutic or cosmetic effects of medical technology; Drugs or active ingredients can be administered simultaneously or in steps to improve their transdermal/absorption efficiency with the help of microneedles, thereby enhancing therapeutic or cosmetic effect.

Microneedle

Indication

• Skin aging and sub-health conditions: including but not limited to skin aging and sagging, wrinkles, dull skin, enlarged pores, sensitive skin, etc.;

• Local viral, bacterial and fungal infections (such as herpes simplex, verruca vulgaris, verruca plana, folliculitis, Malazoic folliculitis, tinea facialis, skin tuberculosis and mycobacterium infection)

• Unknown injection in the treatment area

• Presence of malignant tumors or skin tumors of unknown nature in the treated area

• Other blood system disorders such as coagulation dysfunction, or other systemic diseases that cannot tolerate microneedle treatment

• Those undergoing chemotherapy/radiotherapy

• Keloid or scar constitution

• Patients with mental illness

• Patients who have high expectations for treatment outcomes.

Common clinical microneedle instruments/equipment

• Roller microneedles: The main body is composed of a handle and a roller, and the roller is lined with microneedles (the length is generally 0.5mm ~ 3mm). As the roller rolls on the skin, the microneedles can form micropores on the skin or stimulate skin cells to start the damage repair and regeneration effect, and at the same time introduce effective drugs or effective ingredients into the skin tissue

• Seal microneedles: composed of a handle and a square/round seal head, the microneedles are embedded in the seal, and the microneedles act vertically on the skin when used;

Microneedle

• Electric microneedles: composed of a pen type main body and a vibrating stamp microneedle. Through mechanical drive, the stamp needle microneedle repeatedly vibrates for acupuncture;

• Radiofrequency microneedles: Radiofrequency energy is introduced into the skin through microneedles to cause thermal stimulation or damage to the treatment target tissue. The non-treatment segment is protected by insulation to avoid epidermal damage caused by radiofrequency;

• Nanomicroneedles: The microneedles, developed using nanoglyphics, minimize puncture pain and tissue trauma, while providing precisely controlled, stable fluid channels for drug administration and body fluid collection
